Thursday's work

Make that two more days of painting. Ahh well, no matter.
Today, Thursday, Feb. 11 (Day 6 of painting) Chris painted the final coat on the west hallway including the walls going down the stairs. He then painted the final coat in Ben & Sebastian's room. And he cut in the final coat in the master bedroom and closet.
I finished taping all the windows and then applied wood conditioner to them (it helps to apply this on soft woods so that the stain takes better and does not appear blotchy.)
My dad came today and the columns are almost complete. They look so beautiful and make the space so elegant!

Also today OPPD came and installed permanent power so once we hook up things downstairs and install light fixtures, outlets, and switches, we'll be good to go!
Also, the head drywaller came and inspected things and the scrapper will come tomorrow to clean up the mess downstairs and take their scaffolding that is sitting in our garage.
At the end of the day, we cleaned everything up on the main level. We are anticipating Chris's uncles returning (they helped with framing way back when!) to hang doors and install window trim. We are going to wait to install the baseboards until all the flooring is installed because the hard back of the carpet will get flopped against the wall and we don't want it to scratch the baseboards.
Our wood flooring is in so tomorrow (Fri), Chris will go pick that up from Lumber Liquidators. It will then spend the next couple of days getting acclimated to the temperature before being installed.
