Thurs, Oct. 29th

Chris has been working a job in Lincoln this week so this was our first day at the house. Today he had to leave after lunch to look at a possible job in Omaha. Here is a look at our day:
Thurs, Oct. 29
It's a flooding muddy mess out there. The trench for our power is filled with water. We have a creek at our place! Isn't that nice? Next to it, you can see the plywood path we made to get into the house.
Our front door arrived today! It is unstained, which is why it appears to be a cream color now. We will stain it ourselves with a kit they sell and so we can decide how light or dark to go depending on how many coats of stain we apply. (It's a fiberglass door that has the look of wood.)
Max, Ben, and I had an important, but behind-the-scenes type of job today: clean-up crew. Besides our position of "gopher" for materials at the store, this is one of our main duties in this house-building process. So I should have taken a before picture, but basically you couldn't see the floor..........and now you can. :) Mission accomplished.
After getting stuck in the mud (in his four-wheel drive truck in the GRASS!), getting out, and applying more dirt to the driveway entrance so I could get in and we both could get out, Chris could finally start working.......He got this wall done in the basement bedroom.
