Saturday, July 24: Chris's first Saturday off in a long while....he installed the water softener (now our dishwasher works again and actually cleans the dishes! although the soft water taste...ugh. So we're thinking about selecting which faucets it goes to or having a separate line for drinking but with how busy Chris is, in the meantime we are all just drinking it. I find with lots of ice cubes, I don't notice the taste.)
He also finally shingled the chicken coop. As you can see from the last post, he had put tar paper on it on June 8th, so by now, the tar paper had blown off and it was again soaking the inside of the coop any time it rained, which has been a lot lately! Also since the last post, he installed the doors.
So the coop has been upgraded! Just in time for........our 6 new chicks. They are Silver Spangled Hamburgs.
