Sometime in the last two weeks (that's what happens when you don't have internet and can't post daily!), we have done the following........
Installed the baby gate (eliminating the big carpet roll that
was serving as our baby gate)

Grouted the walk-in shower wall tile and sealed the floor tile

Installed the master bath faucet

Trimmed out the master bath window with vinyl

Installed door stops

Installed the pedestal sink in the small bathroom

and the super fun towel bar

Put up hooks in the hall closet

Hooked up our dining room light fixture (a craigslist find! 75 bucks!)

Looking up at it from the bottom:

At night:

I'm in love with this light fixture...can you tell?!
Put the handle on the patio door

Installed the garage door opener

Stained and installed the handrail down the stairs

Started staining the front door (it still needs its top coat)

Put the kitchen cabinet hardware on

Chris also sealed the front and back entry tile, did touch up painting, hooked up all the appliances, put the backing on the kitchen peninsula, installed clothes rods in closets and the laundry room, and probably other stuff that I can't remember....
Not to mention we unpacked--we moved March 13th!

What happens when some of the clothes rods aren't installed when you move in:

How Max felt about being in his new house:

The appraiser came Monday, March 22 and the final inspection was Tuesday March 23rd. We passed! and the Certificate of Occupancy was granted to us. We still have a handful of things to do but what house doesn't?! We'll keep the blog "alive" to add things as we do them. After all, the original point of this blog was for me to slurp "the making of our house" into a book...That's right, you readers are just an added bonus. :) And yes, an open house is coming soon! Hope to see you soon!
