Finishing part of the basement
The drywallers came to tape and mud this past week, Aug. 1-3. We went and bought paint Saturday and were all ready to get started when we noticed some spots they need to touch up so they'll be back tomorrow: Monday, August 8. So we decided to finalize one of our colors, which we needed to do anyway. The north bedroom, which will be Chris's office, is going to be a tan (Shermin Williams Camelback) and the hall area is going to be Believable Buff (very similar to our hallways upstairs). The south bedroom, which will be the school room (just have to put this in here because I'm not a fan of the title "school room": we do school in the whole house....the couch, the floor, the kitchen counter, outside, but our "kitchen table" work will now be done in the school room. And the large hall closet is going to be awesome to house all of our materials in one place.) Back to colors: I wanted the school room to be a pale aqua (feel: ocean) and so we tried the colors on the wall. It was easy to decide then. The name is Aquatint, but we're doing it at 50%. Here's Chris painting test colors:
For the curious, the left wall is mint, and vetoed. The left of the window is Aquatint at 25% and the right of the window--what he's painting---is Aquatint at 50%. The pic makes it look baby blue but in person it really is an aqua--nice and cheery!
