So this blog was supposed to be about the building of our house, which it is!, but it's been expanded to include "the farm" aka animals.
(Fyi: It will not turn into daily posts about our children, so don't expect that!)
The kittens have grown out of their box (see below), so the boys and I decided to move them. There are now three divisions in the chicken coop, the big hens, the black & white speckled chicks (who we've tried to mingle with the big chickens but neither are ready (the chicks won't stay outside and the chickens won't stop pecking them!), and now the third area, the kittens to shelter them from the cold. Talk about a multi-use facility!

Today when the kids were playing with the kittens, I said I'd better go get the camera because we haven't taken pictures of them for a while. I came outside to this trio!

Here's Ben with "Lightning":

Max with "October", who he is proud to note, was the first to figure out how to climb out of the box!

Sebastian with "Lily":

We had wanted to get kittens for the boys, because we knew they would love them (as you can see from the pictures), but also needed a grown cat for our mice problem in the garage. I'm glad to note (although it was a little yucky to watch), that the kittens feasted on their first mouse the other day. Hopefully, their mama raises them to be good hunters like she is!
