Nov. 15: Well, hmm, how do you not make this a downer post? :) but still record the um, 'updates' around here? Treading lightly here.....
We are down to five kittens. Ben's gray one had an unhappy incident Sunday involving a car. The good news is, the boys took it amazingly well and Ben has adopted a new kitten Lightning.
The very next day, today (Mon), I went out to feed the chickens in the morning and found a chicken in the corner of the coop. We had already had a hunch about this one because its comb was black instead of red and would just stand hunched all day very lethargic-like. So now we're down to 13 chickens and 6 chicks, who now live co-mingled in the coop. We still have chicken wire separating the chickens and cats, but they go in and out through each other's doors, and don't bother each other.
A lot of people ask us, how many eggs we get. We have been averaging about 9-12 a day.
